For foreign tourists, the entry fee is around 3000-4000 rupees and the jeep safari has to be hired separately. You can save a little with online booking, and sharing a jeep with a local guide is more affordable.

Faits rapides: Ce sanctuaire s'étend sur 32 000 hectares, où plus de 500 éléphants se déplacent librement. On y trouve plus de 200 espèces d'oiseaux, dont le paon sri-lankais et l'aigle.
Points forts: C'est l'un des rares endroits où vous pouvez observer les éléphants de très près sans craindre les tigres ou les léopards. Au matin, lorsque le brouillard se dissipe, les troupeaux d'éléphants apparaissent se baignant au bord de la rivière, un spectacle tout simplement inoubliable.
Conseils d'initiés
- Wear khaki or green colored clothes and avoid bright colors so as not to distract the animals.
- Book an open-top jeep for the safari; photography is difficult in a closed jeep.
- Animals are rarely seen between 12 pm and 3 pm, so choose morning or evening time.
- Be sure to carry binoculars and a water bottle with you; water is not available inside the park.
