Faits rapides: Plus de 5 000 artefacts remplissent 13 salles d'exposition, allant du Paléolithique à la période ottomane. La collection du musée comprend des pièces provenant des cités antiques de Perge, Aspendos et Side, toutes fouillées dans la région environnante.
Points forts: La pièce maîtresse du musée est le sarcophage « Héraclès pleurant », un chef-d'œuvre en marbre du IIe siècle montrant les douze travaux du héros avec des détails à couper le souffle. Taillé dans un seul bloc de marbre, le sarcophage fut sorti clandestinement de Turquie dans les années 1960 et ne fut rendu qu'après une bataille juridique de plusieurs années avec le Getty Museum.
