Faits rapides: Le minaret de 46 mètres a tellement impressionné Gengis Khan qu'il l'a épargné de la destruction. Le complexe de trois bâtiments définit le paysage urbain de Boukhara depuis plus de 800 ans.
Points forts: Depuis le sommet du minaret, la voix du muezzin portait jusqu'à 10 kilomètres dans le silence du désert. Le motif en briques de la tour présente 14 décorations géométriques différentes, chacune se révélant selon l'angle d'où on l'observe.
