Bring cash in Argentine pesos. Card machines are unreliable in small towns and exchange rates at official places are terrible. Blue dollar rate is the way to go.
Perito Moreno Glacier absolutely blew my mind. Heard it calving from a mile away like thunder. But everything is expensive, especially last minute lodging.
The people here are so warm and welcoming. We met a guide in El Calafate who took us to his family's parilla for dinner. Best lamb of my life.
Came in March expecting fewer crowds but some tours were already shutting down for the season. Weather was decent but unpredictable. Glacial ice hikes are unforgettable though.
Wish I had budgeted more for food. Groceries in small towns are expensive because everything gets trucked in. El Chalten was incredible hiking.
