Brze činjenice: Ova tvrđava smještena je na stijeni visokoj 20 metara koja se uzdiže iznad doline wadi. Njezine zidine dosežu debljinu do 3 metra, a unutra se kriju podzemni tuneli koji su vodili do tajnih izvora vode.
Istaknuto: Gledajući s tornja, pruža se pogled na jedino mjesto u Omanu gdje se pustinja susreće s oceanom, prizor zbog kojeg bi fotografi dali pola svoje opreme. Na zidinama tvrđave još uvijek su vidljivi drevni zapisi koje su ostavili portugalski pomorci prije 400 godina.

- Come on weekdays, when there are almost no visitors, while on weekends local families have picnics here.
- Try to find the old Portuguese carved marks on the southern wall: it is a detail known to very few.
- Wear comfortable shoes: the steps are stone and quite steep, and handrails are not everywhere.
