Brze činjenice: Chiamata "Casa delle Immagini", ospita alcune delle statue di Buddha in piedi più imponenti di Polonnaruwa, con oltre 3 metri di altezza. Le pareti interne conservano frammenti di affreschi originali del XII secolo, ancora visibili nonostante i secoli di esposizione agli elementi.
Istaknuto: A differenza degli altri templi aperti, qui si cammina in un ambiente chiuso che amplifica il riverbero dei passi, creando un'atmosfera quasi ipnotica. Le statue non sono allineate come ci si aspetterebbe: una è leggermente ruotata verso l'ingresso, come se accogliesse chi entra con uno sguardo laterale.

- Enter through the less crowded side door on the north side, and observe the statues from different angles before stopping in front of the central one.
- Bring a pocket flashlight: the frescoes on the ceiling and in the dark corners are much better seen with direct light.
- Do not focus only on the large statues: look down and you will find small carvings and floral patterns on the stone bases.
- If you arrive after 10:00 AM, visit the nearby Vatadage first and come back here once the tourist group has passed.
