Fakta singkat: Craggy coastal headlands give way to swaths of glossy black and golden sand, where small wooden banca boats dot the shoreline at sunrise. Warm water temperatures around 28–30°C and surprisingly clear visibility make snorkeling rewarding, and occasional offshore currents bring schools of tuna and reef fish close to shore.
Sorotan: A tidal sandbar stretches about 200 meters at low tide, carpeted with hundreds of tiny iridescent shells that crunch underfoot and lure flocks of wading birds by midmorning. Local fishers burn aromatic coconut husks at dusk, the smoke mixing with salty air while lanterns reveal the neon-blue weave of nets being sorted, a scene that smells of smoke, sea, and grilled fish.

- Wear reef shoes and quick-dry clothes, rocky shorelines and sharp coral are common.
- Arrive at sunrise for calmer water and the best photos, late afternoon is good for golden-hour shots and fewer people.
