About
Insider tips
- Dress modestly and remove hats if you plan to enter the sanctuary, as it functions as an active church.
- For the best photos, shoot from the courtyard looking up to capture the circular brickwork and domed interior in late afternoon light.
- Avoid midday when tour groups from nearby Alexander Nevsky Cathedral arrive; early morning or after 5 pm is much calmer.
- Combine the visit with the National Archaeological Museum nearby to see more Roman artifacts and save on walking time.
