Fakta cepat: Jalur berkelok-kelok yang melintasi hutan Heiligenberg ini dinamai sesuai nama penyair Jerman Friedrich Hölderlin, yang pernah menyusuri jalur-jalur ini selama ia berada di Heidelberg. Visit on a weekday morning if you want the trail almost entirely to yourself, weekends draw locals and hikers.
The stone pillars make excellent photo subjects, especially in the soft light of late afternoon when the carvings cast long shadows.
