About
Insider tips
- Wear comfortable shoes, upper deck has steep stairs and narrow sections.
- Best photo spot is near the middle of the upper deck facing the city for symmetrical shots of Ribeira and the colorful riverside houses.
- Avoid peak midday and weekend crowds by visiting at sunrise or late afternoon.
- After crossing, take the riverside stairs in Gaia to visit port wine cellars and riverside cafes.

4.0Arrived at 8am with few people, free to walk across, incredible views of Douro and Ribeira; sunrise was worth it.
Visited at 2pm, very crowded and noisy. Metro cost 2.00 EUR, view is nice but selfie queues made it underwhelming.
