Fatti rapidi: Il museo si trova all'interno delle mura ricostruite del castello di Krujë, in cima a una collina dove l'eroe albanese Skanderbeg si difese dagli assedi ottomani nel XV secolo. Il suo design in cemento brutalista dell'era comunista contrasta nettamente con l'ambientazione della fortezza medievale, e custodisce l'elmo e la spada originali di Skanderbeg, che si dice pesino non più di 3,5 chilogrammi.
Punti salienti: Al piano superiore, un corridoio stretto conduce a un punto da cui si possono ammirare proprio le pianure dove i 3.000 uomini di Skanderbeg si dice abbiano messo in rotta le forze ottomane nel 1450, un paesaggio che è cambiato a malapena in cinque secoli. L'autentico elmo con corna di capra e il suo crestino metallico a forma di capra è conservato in una teca climatizzata, e solo circa 4.000 visitatori al giorno passano durante l'alta stagione estiva, così si può sostare accanto ad esso con tutto lo spazio necessario.
