Fatti rapidi: Il campo si trova a 4.320 metri di altitudine, perciò l'acqua bollente zampilla a soli 86 gradi nell'aria rarefatta. Circa 80 geyser attivi riescono a mostrarsi nelle ore dell'alba prima che il sole scaldi e il vapore scompaia.
Punti salienti: Il nome tatio significa "nonno" in kunza, la lingua del popolo che visse qui molto prima dell'arrivo degli Inca. All'alba i getti di vapore raggiungono i tre metri nell'aria gelida, ma già un'ora dopo il campo è quasi silenzioso.
