Punti salienti: Alle otto del mattino il ghiaccio si stende come un vetro fragile sull'acqua della riva, e ogni passo nella ghiaia risuona come uno scricchiolio nel silenzio totale. Un caracara di solito si muove lungo la cresta mentre hai la vetta di Miñiques, alta 5.910 metri, proprio accanto.

- Take a spot at the viewpoint below the parking lot first, where the whole double lagoon and the volcanoes fit in one picture.
- Pack warm clothes and a hat in your backpack, the temperature can be below freezing even in the middle of summer.
- Go on a weekday and as early as possible, then you will have the lagoons almost to yourself before the group buses roll in around ten.
- Skip the line at the toilet at the entrance, use the facilities in Toconao before the trip instead.
