Fatti rapidi: Il portale reca lo stemma di un Gran Maestro scolpito nella pietra sopra l'ingresso, simbolo del potere che un tempo controllava questo passaggio. Attraverso la volta del portale, cavalieri, soldati e mercanti hanno transitato per oltre 300 anni.

Punti salienti: All'interno delle spesse mura del portale si trova un piccolo corpo di guardia dove i soldati potevano sorprendere gli intrusi in un agguato. Le originali cerniere in ferro che sostenevano l'enorme portone di legno sono ancora visibili e testimoniano un'epoca passata di artigianato e difesa.
