Fatti rapidi: Arroccata su uno sperone roccioso che si affaccia sul Golfo dell'Oman, questa fortezza fu originariamente costruita dai portoghesi nel 1580 per proteggere il porto di Mascate. Le sue torri di avvistamento gemelle e la spettacolare posizione a picco sul mare ospitavano un tempo cannoni in grado di sparare colpi di avvertimento attraverso l'intera baia.
Punti salienti: A differenza della maggior parte dei forti che sembrano musei polverosi, questo ha ancora un ponte levatoio funzionante e i cannoni portoghesi originali puntati verso il mare. Percorri le strette scale fino al tetto al tramonto e guarda le luci della città accendersi una dopo l'altra nel porto sottostante.
