Fatti rapidi: Arroccato su uno sperone roccioso che domina il porto, questo forte protegge l'ingresso del porto di Mascate almeno dal XVI secolo. Il suo gemello, il forte Al Jalali, si trova direttamente dall'altra parte della baia, e insieme un tempo chiudevano l'ingresso del porto con una catena per controllare l'accesso.
Punti salienti: Osserva attentamente la base delle mura del forte e noterai le palle di cannone portoghesi originali ancora incastonate nella pietra, risalenti ad assedi di secoli fa. L'interno del forte conserva una cisterna d'acqua portoghese ancora funzionante che raccoglie l'acqua piovana, proprio come quando fu costruita dagli ingegneri coloniali nel 1580.
