Fatti rapidi: Il palazzo fu costruito in marmo italiano e pietra locale dal 1920 al 1926 per il sultano Mohamoud Ali Shirwa. Dopo l'incendio del 2020, è rimasta in piedi solo la massiccia facciata in pietra, che è ancora un luogo popolare per gli incontri serali dei residenti locali.
Punti salienti: Pochi sanno che nel sottosuolo del palazzo si trova un labirinto di corridoi ben conservati attraverso i quali il sultano fuggiva durante le incursioni nemiche. Ancora oggi le pareti di questi corridoi sono ricoperte di ornamenti originali e i visitatori possono sperimentare in prima persona com'era la via di fuga di un sovrano secoli fa.
