Fatti rapidi: Entrare dentro è come immergersi nel tempo, con scheletri di balena sospesi che dominano dall'alto e vasche di vetro che risuonano di pesci al neon. Un labirinto di vetrine ospita migliaia di esemplari conservati e stazioni interattive che permettono di toccare gli strumenti e le tecniche che gli scienziati usano per studiare la vita oceanica.
Punti salienti: Uno scheletro sbiancato di balena lungo circa 12 metri pende dal soffitto a volta, le costole illuminate dal sole formano archi sopra la testa così i visitatori possono stare sotto e contare le vertebre come se leggessero una spina fossile. Quasi 20.000 esemplari riempiono le teche di vetro, da gusci minuti a meduse vive che pulsano in vasche blu soffuse, e un registro dei visitatori consumato all'ingresso è ancora punteggiato da note di donazioni scritte a mano risalenti agli anni '60.
