The ski season is solid, but when it ended, the town got a bit sleepy. Loved exploring the cobbled streets and local taverns. Could be cleaner in some parts.
Bansko has a chill vibe, great mix of old-world charm and lively bars. Food is decent, though a bit pricey at the tourist spots. Go for 3-4 days tops.
If you want real value, avoid the restaurants near the gondola. Walk a block away, prices drop by half and the food is tastier. Also, the bus from Sofia is cheap but runs infrequently, plan ahead.
Weather was a mixed bag in spring, sunny mornings but sudden showers. Perfect for hiking but pack layers. Not a place to rush, stay at least 4 nights.
Try to catch a local folk music night at one of the smaller bars for a real taste of Bulgarian culture, it's way more authentic than the main square shows.
