Dublin is a safe and tourist-friendly city, but popular spots around Temple Bar, Grafton Street and the airport draw common street and taxi scams. The main risks are unlicensed airport drivers, fast-moving pickpockets in crowds, and poor exchange rates. Watch your personal belongings in busy areas and always use official taxis and ticket apps.

Kaip tai veikia: Drivers approach arriving passengers inside or just outside the terminal offering a flat 'cheap' ride to the city. They are unlicensed, skip the meter and charge inflated fares with no regulated recourse.
Kaip to išvengti: Use only the official taxi rank outside arrivals or book through Free Now, Bolt or Uber. Never follow someone who offers a ride inside the terminal.
Kaip tai veikia: Thieves work busy pedestrian areas and tourist spots, using distraction by bumping, asking for directions or spilling something while an accomplice lifts phones and wallets from open bags and pockets.
Kaip to išvengti: Keep bags zipped and in front, phones in front pockets, and stay alert in dense crowds and on packed buses and trams.
Kaip tai veikia: Exchange booths in busy tourist streets advertise eye-catching rates but add large commissions and fees, leaving tourists with far less than the official interbank rate.
Kaip to išvengti: Pay by card where possible. If you need cash, withdraw from a bank ATM in euro and decline dynamic currency conversion at the terminal.
Praleisk gatvės pardavėjus: užsisakyk oficialius bilietus ir ekskursijas su nemokamu atšaukimu.
Dublin Airport
Tinkama taksi kaina (oficiali, dieną): 25 € - 35 €. Use the official taxi rank outside arrivals and insist on the meter. Prefer hailing through Free Now, Bolt or Uber for a metered fare. Refuse unlicensed drivers who approach you inside the terminal or at exits.
Geriausia alternatyva: Aircoach bus (8 €, apie 30 min)
Arbatpinigiai: Tipping is not required. In sit-down restaurants 10% is appreciated for good service but never automatic. Round up in taxis and for tours only if satisfied.
Vietos ir aptarnavimo mokesčiai: Service charges are not typical in Dublin. A service charge is sometimes added for large groups and should be shown on the menu or bill. Check the bill for unexpected charges and always confirm the menu price before ordering.
Always choose to be charged in euro and decline dynamic currency conversion. Prefer ATMs attached to major banks. Independent ATMs in shops and bars often charge high withdrawal fees.
