Expect strong winds more often than not. Bring layers, even summer evenings get chilly at the lighthouse area.
We stayed overnight nearby and it was worth it to catch both the sunrise and sunset over the water. Definitely more magical with fewer people around.
Get there early in the morning to beat the crowds. The walking trails are better enjoyed when less busy and you get great photo ops with less people.
Fuel up your car before the last town. Gas stations close early and it can be a long trip without any stops. Saves a lot of stress.
The weather was perfect when I was there, sunny but a nice breeze. Great spot for nature lovers, but it can get crowded midday. Budget about 3-4 hours to soak it all in.
