Best in the morning around 9:00, when the sun shines directly on the gate facade and creates perfect light for photographs. You will also avoid the crowds of tourists who pour in here in the afternoon.

Viewing the gate from the outside is free. If you want to see the interior and the exhibition about the history of the fortifications, admission costs 10 lei for adults; we recommend a combined ticket with the nearby Black Church for 25 lei.

Greiti faktai: Schei vartai iš pradžių buvo Brašovo viduramžių įtvirtinimų dalis ir tarnavo kaip vienintelis įėjimas į miestą iš pietų. Iki šių dienų jie išsaugojo pirminę 1827 metų barokinę išvaizdą, nors jų pamatai siekia net XV amžių.

Akcentai: Vartų viršuje atkreipkite dėmesį į akmeninį herbą su užrašu „Salva Guarda“. Tai buvo privilegijuotas įėjimas, kuriuo be muito galėjo eiti tik Transilvanijos saksai. Kai pro juos važiuodavo pirkliai su druska pakrautais vežimais, tekdavo sumokėti rinkliavą, kuri buvo matuojama pagal ratų plotį.

Stop at the information board on the left side of the gate. The original drawbridge system, which no longer exists, is drawn on it.
Photograph the gate from the lower part of the street, and you will capture the entire arch together with the surrounding houses without any distracting elements.
Notice the small stone balls walled into the sides of the gate; they served as protection against cannonballs.
Avoid visiting at noon, when cars drive through here and you are not able to photograph the gate in peace.
