Best is December to February, especially early evening, when the tropical heat has cooled and the lawn is at its most inviting. Check the festival program in advance, many evenings offer hospitality in the form of open shows.

The walk through the garden is free, while tickets to shows and exhibitions usually cost around 100 to 400 rupees. Many open program items on the lawn are completely free, so keep an eye on the festival program.

Insidertips
- Sit in the shade toward the back edge of the park, where you hear best and the evening sun won't hit your screen.
- Bring a sitting blanket or air cushion, the grass quickly feels damp as evening falls.
- Photograph the facade from the southwest when the sun is low, then the white plaster glows against the dark trees.
- On weekdays before 4 PM the lawn is almost empty of people, perfect for a quiet stroll before the evening performances.
