Raske fakta: Tâmpa er en 960 meter høy kalksteinstopp som reiser seg rett over Brașovs historiske sentrum. Til toppen går en taubane på 450 meter med en høydeforskjell på 180 meter.

Høydepunkter: På toppen av Tâmpa ligger middelalderfestningen Brasov Citadel, som aldri ble erobret ved angrep, bare kapitulerte på grunn av hungersnød. I klart vær kan man se opptil 100 km, inkludert de snødekte toppene i Karpatene.

Insidertips

Get on the cable car on the left side to have the best view of Brașov for the whole ride up.
The hiking trail up the red markers from Pe Tocile Street is steeper, but the reward is a wolf viewpoint without the crowds.
Wear sturdy shoes even in summer, the trail is rocky and slippery after rain.
Avoid weekends at noon; it is best here after 5 p.m., when only locals ride the cable car.
