Korte feiten: Hier worden meer dan 800.000 objecten bewaard die de geschiedenis van het land weerspiegelen, van de prehistorie tot heden. In een van de zalen is een 4,5 miljard jaar oud meteorietfragment te zien, samen met een koninklijke vergulde troon.
Hoogtepunten: Alleen hier ziet u een authentiek 17e-eeuws Mogol-schip uit de Bengaalse delta, rechtstreeks van de rivierbodem geborgen en tot in het kleinste detail gerestaureerd. Op de benedenverdieping bevindt zich een levensgrote betonnen tijgerscène waarin een Bengaalse tijger een ree aanvalt, omringd door opgenomen geluiden uit de Sundarban-jungle.

- The biggest crowds are in the afternoon from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, so plan your visit in the morning.
- Do not miss the ethnographic section on the second floor, where you will see authentic rural house interiors from different regions.
- Photography without flash is allowed in all sections, and there is no additional fee.
- Set aside at least 3 hours for your visit, as the exhibition is spread across three floors and 44 galleries.
