At one of Europe's largest natural waterfall pools, leap from the top of the falls and experience the wildest summer. Step along the path, plunge into the emerald waters amid the thunderous roar, or grab a beer at the floating bar and enjoy nature's most generous gift.

Korte feiten: Deze waterval met een breedte van 120 meter heeft een hoogteverschil van ongeveer 25 meter en stort in de zomer, wanneer de waterstroom overvloedig is, bijna 3000 kubieke meter water per minuut naar beneden. In de zomer is het water hier aangenaam van temperatuur en is het een favoriet natuurlijk zwembad voor zowel locals als toeristen. De ervaring om van bovenaf de waterval in het heldergroene water te springen, zorgt absoluut voor een adrenalinekick.

Hoogtepunten: Het gaafste is dat je over het pad bovenlangs de waterval naar het midden kunt lopen en vervolgens in het kristalheldere natuurlijke zwembad eronder kunt springen. Bij de meeste watervallen is dit verboden. In de zomer is er ook een kleine drijvende waterbar in het diepe water. Als je moe bent van het zwemmen, zwem je er gewoon naartoe voor een koud biertje. Wat een heerlijkheid bestaat er toch.

Inside a monastery, more than 600 nativity scenes from around the world are hidden, more stunning than any museum. Walk through the stone-carved underground grotto and feel as if you have instantly traveled back to Bethlehem a thousand years ago.

Korte feiten: Dit Franciscanenklooster herbergt de grootste collectie kerststallen ter wereld, met meer dan 600 exemplaren. In het klooster bevindt zich ook een miniatuur replica van de "Gouden Poort", geïnspireerd op de beroemde bronzen deuren van het Baptisterium van San Giovanni in Florence.

Hoogtepunten: In de catacomben van het klooster bevindt zich een grot die met 500.000 handmatig ingelegde natuurstenen is gemaakt en de kerststal van Bethlehem voorstelt. Elke steen komt uit een ander land en zou afkomstig zijn van aarde en gesteente die pelgrims speciaal uit hun thuisland hebben meegebracht.

Travel through the long history of Herzegovina in a thousand-year-old castle. Touch Roman mosaics, examine Ottoman scimitars, and stand atop the tower to overlook the canyon scenery.

Korte feiten: Dit museum is gevestigd in de ruïne van het middeleeuwse kasteel van de hertogen van Herzegovina. De 14e-eeuwse muren en torens staan nog overeind. De collectie omvat meer dan 3000 artefacten, van aardewerk uit de Illyrische tijd tot wapens en traditionele kledij uit de Ottomaanse periode, verspreid over duizenden jaren geschiedenis.

Hoogtepunten: Onder de binnenplaats van het museum ligt een complete Romeinse villa uit de oudheid. Het mozaïek op de vloer is verrassend goed bewaard gebleven; de geometrische patronen van 2000 jaar oud zijn nog steeds kleurrijk. Vanaf de kasteeltoren kijk je uit over de rivier de Trebižat die door een kalksteenklif meandert, en je kunt de klokkentorens van vier middeleeuwse kerken tegelijk zien.
