Korte feiten: Birders have documented roughly 270 bird species across this 60-hectare stretch of riverfront forest and marsh. A 1909 fieldstone mansion built for Colonel James Walker, a frontier North-West Mounted Police officer, still anchors the property today.
Hoogtepunten: Northern saw-whet owls, barely taller than a coffee mug, roost in the spruce groves, and patient visitors sometimes spot one dozing just meters from the path. On calm mornings the marsh turns glass-flat, doubling every red-winged blackbird that calls from the cattails.
