Elke stalen buis werd op maat gebogen in Spanje, in stukken over de oceaan verscheept en vervolgens ter plaatse in elkaar gezet, zodat het afgewerkte omhulsel oogt als één naadloze, in snoeppapier gewikkelde kronkeling.

- Arrive around 7 p.m. in summer to catch golden hour fading into the bridge's red lights.
- Use the pedestrian walkway on the river side of the span so passing cyclists don't clip you mid-photo.
- Weekday mornings before 8 a.m. are the quietest stretch if you want the tube almost to yourself.
