- Pack a picnic blanket and grab fish and chips from a takeout spot on Marine Drive instead of the pricier sit-down restaurants with the same view.
- Visit on a weekday morning if you want the pier almost entirely to yourself, especially before 10 AM when the seagulls outnumber the people.
