Korte feiten: Het Museum voor Heilige Kunst van Split herbergt meer dan 400 liturgische voorwerpen die zijn verzameld uit kerken in heel Dalmatië die werden verwoest of buiten gebruik gesteld. De collectie omvat sierlijke gotische kelken, renaissance-reliekhouders en rijk geborduurde liturgische gewaden die zes eeuwen bestrijken.
Hoogtepunten: Een hele galerie is gewijd aan één enkel 15e-eeuws verzilverd processiekruis waarvan de ingewikkelde reliëfpanelen het verhaal van Christus' passie in miniatuur vertellen. Het kruis overleefde zowel plunderingen door Napoleon als bombardementen in de Tweede Wereldoorlog en werd tweemaal verborgen binnen de stenen muren van een Franciscaans klooster.
