Entry to the town hall is free; climbing the tower costs a symbolic fee (around 30 DKK). There is no combined ticket for multiple attractions in the city, but a visit to the town hall will set you back just a few kroner.

Korte feiten: Op de 60 meter hoge toren speelt elk uur een transparant carillon met 38 klokken. Het gebouw is ontworpen door de architecten Arne Jacobsen en Erik Møller en werd geopend in 1941, waarbij de sleutels van de stad nog steeds in het kantoor van de burgemeester hangen.

Hoogtepunten: In de ondergrondse kluis met dikke betonnen muren liggen nog steeds de originelen van de stadsleutels uit 1941. Het mooiste uitzicht over heel Aarhus is vanaf de galerij onder de toren, precies op het moment dat het middaguurcarillon begint te spelen.
