Korte feiten: Het marktplein herbergt de Roland van Bremen, een 5,47 meter hoog zandstenen beeldhouwwerk dat sinds 1404 staat voor vrijheid en marktgerechtigheid. Het stadhuis valt op door zijn meer dan 600 jaar oude Weserrenaissance gevel en is sinds 2004 UNESCO-werelderfgoed.
Hoogtepunten: Het beeld van de Bremer stadsmuzikanten staat direct aan het marktplein en is een populair fotomotief. In december verandert het marktplein in een kerstmarkt met meer dan 100 kraampjes die regionale lekkernijen en kunstnijverheid aanbieden.
