Korte feiten: Met 2.962 meter is het het hoogste punt van Duitsland waar je kunt staan zonder klimtouw. De top ligt precies op de Duits-Oostenrijkse grens, wat betekent dat je letterlijk met één voet in elk land kunt staan.
Hoogtepunten: Op de top bevindt zich een van de hoogste brouwerijen van Duitsland, waar de bieringrediënten met de kabelbaan omhoog worden gebracht en het water van gesmolten gletsjerijs komt. Op een heldere dag kun je vier landen zien vanaf het panoramische terras, met toppen in Duitsland, Oostenrijk, Italië en Zwitserland.

- Skip the tourist-packed summit restaurant and walk 10 minutes down to Sonnalpin for better prices and equally stunning glacier views.
- Arrive before 9 AM to catch the first cable car and have the summit nearly to yourself before the tour buses arrive.
- Wear sturdy shoes and layers, the temperature can swing from 25°C in the valley to near freezing at the top.
