Korte feiten: Twee torens van ongeveer 80 meter hoog verankeren een kerk waarvan de zaal ambachtslieden bijna 200 jaar kostte om af te maken. Binnen hangen rivaliserende meesterwerken uit hetzelfde tijdperk: de vergulde Engelse Groet van Veit Stoß uit 1517 en het fijn gebeeldhouwde, 20 meter hoge stenen sacramentsthuis van Adam Kraft.
Hoogtepunten: Bestudeer de voet van Adams Krafts stenen sacramentsthuis en je ontdekt het zelfportret van de beeldhouwer, gehurkt onder de last, lippen geopend en beitel in de hand, een houding die hij sinds 1496 vasthoudt. Het echte Annunciatiebeeldhouwwerk uit 1517 van Veit Stoß hangt laag in het vrij toegankelijke middenschip, zodat bezoekers om de vergulde figuren heen kunnen lopen in plaats van te turen naar het verre koor.
