Korte feiten: De geometrische lijnen van het monument zijn geïnspireerd op zowel Sassanidische als islamitische architectuurtradities en vormen een symbolische brug tussen het pre-islamitische en post-islamitische Iran. Het 45 meter hoge witte marmeren frame staat op een groot plein dat plaats biedt aan wel 10.000 mensen voor nationale vieringen en bijeenkomsten.
Hoogtepunten: Ga bij zonsondergang onder de boog staan en u ziet het mozaïek van het binnenplafond door een spectrum van turkoois, goud en diepblauw gaan terwijl het licht vervaagt door 8.000 handgesneden keramische tegels. In het ondergrondse museum onder de toren liggen de originele declaratiesteen uit 1971 en een zeldzaam exemplaar van de Cyruscilinder, een 2.500 jaar oud kleitablet dat vaak de eerste grondwet van de mensenrechten wordt genoemd.
