Korte feiten: Decennialang stond dit enorme kustfort verlaten en vergeten, terwijl de geschutbatterijen roestten tegen de mediterrane lucht. Pas na een restauratie van 1,5 miljoen euro heropende het in 2022 en onthulde een militair complex dat ooit honderden soldaten huisvestte.
Hoogtepunten: Stap binnen in de kwartieren van de commandant en je zult spookachtige muurschilderingen vinden die nog van de muren bladderen, door de hand geschilderd door gestationeerde soldaten die hun slaapkamers versierden met alpiene landschappen en berghutten die ze wanhopig wensten te bewaken in plaats daarvan. De enorme munitietunnels dalen 15 meter onder de grond af, een koele en echoënde doolhof waar het enige geluid druppelend zeewater is.
