Korte feiten: Dit 19e-eeuwse fort aan zee maakte deel uit van een enorm Pruisisch kustverdedigingsnetwerk dat zich over meer dan 100 kilometer uitstrekte. De acht meter dikke bakstenen en granieten muren waren ontworpen om zwaar marinebombardement te weerstaan, hoewel het fort nooit significante gevechten heeft meegemaakt.
Hoogtepunten: Een verborgen wenteltrap daalt 15 meter onder de grond af naar een netwerk van voormalige kruitkamers, nu herbestemd als een griezelige kunstgalerie. Het zuidelijke bastion van het fort biedt een direct zicht recht over de Koerse Schoorwal, een perspectief waarvan maar weinig bezoekers weten dat het bestaat.

- Bring a light jacket even in summer, the underground chambers stay around 12 degrees Celsius year-round.
- The best photo spot is from the northeastern bastion looking out over the Baltic Sea at sunset.
