Korte feiten: Deze kathedraal staat op de plek waar volgens de lokale traditie de apostel Paulus aan land kwam na zijn schipbreuk op Malta in 60 na Christus. De vloer is bedekt met meer dan 2.000 marmeren grafstenen, elk ontworpen met ingewikkelde ingelegde patronen om Maltese adellijke families te eren.

Hoogtepunten: Kijk omhoog naar het plafond en u zult een meesterwerk van Mattia Preti zien, die de dramatische scènes van Paulus' schipbreuk en leven schilderde zonder ooit Malta te bezoeken.
