Korte feiten: Tijdens het grote beleg in 1565 zou het wonderbaarlijke kruisbeeld in de kerk hebben gezweet, wat hoop gaf aan de verdedigers van Malta. De kerk diende 41 jaar lang als de hoofdkerk van de Orde van Sint-Jan voordat de St. John's Co-Cathedral voltooid was.
Hoogtepunten: In de crypte onder de kerk staat een van de best bewaarde orgels uit de 17e eeuw in Europa, met originele pijpen en mechaniek die nog steeds werken. Elke zondag kun je de diepe, warme klank de gewelfde stenen muren horen vullen, zoals het al meer dan 350 jaar doet.

- Sit in the back pew for 5 minutes after arriving to experience the special acoustics and silence.
- Combine the visit with Inquisitor's Palace 100 meters away and Fort St. Angelo on the headland for a complete day in Vittoriosa.
- Ask the church warden if the crypt is open. Many visitors miss the 17th-century organ down there.
