The best activities in Qatar combine millennia-old tradition with modern architecture. In Souq Waqif, a market over 100 years old, the scent of spices and incense fills the air. 1. Museum of Islamic Art

At sunset, the golden sandstone walls glow against the turquoise Arabian Gulf waters visible behind the stage, creating a natural backdrop no theater design could replicate.
4. Aspire Park

Hoogtepunten: From the battlements of the fortress, you have a breathtaking 360-degree view of the former pearl-diving town of Al Zubarah, whose ruins have been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 2013. If you look closely, you can still make out the outlines of over 60 mosques and hundreds of houses lying hidden beneath the desert sand.
6. The Corniche

7. National Museum of Qatar

Korte feiten: Once a fire station, the yellow building now houses one of the most dynamic art residencies in the Middle East. The house attracts around 150,000 visitors annually, who explore contemporary works and studios free of charge.
Hoogtepunten: In the former sleeping quarters of the firefighters, up to 15 artists from around the world now work in modern studios whose glass walls completely reveal the creative process to visitors. As you walk through the corridors, you occasionally smell fresh paint and hear the hum of printing presses right next to works from the permanent collection comprising 9,000 pieces.

Finally made it to Qatar. The heat is no joke, 45 degrees at 10am. But the Corniche at sunset is absolutely gorgeous. 3 days is enough honestly.
Souq Waqif at night is where the magic happens. Spent hours just wandering, the scents, the lights, the shisha cafes. Felt safe walking alone as a woman too.
Mixed feelings. Doha feels like a giant mall sometimes. Beautiful architecture but lacked soul in some areas. The Museum of Islamic Art saved the trip for me.
Book the Sunday brunch at a 5 star hotel. Sounds crazy expensive but you get pool access, unlimited food and drinks for hours. Best deal in Doha.
Skip the fancy restaurants in the Pearl. Walk into any cafeteria in Al Sadd for real karak chai and paratha for under 10 riyals. Life changing.
