Korte feiten: Meer dan 2.000 verkopers vullen deze enorme overdekte markt en verkopen alles van verse bananen tot handgeweven manden. De groenteafdeling alleen al biedt 50 soorten bonen en 14 soorten bananen, een weerspiegeling van de ongelooflijke agrarische diversiteit van Rwanda.
Hoogtepunten: Kijk uit naar de vrouwen die geweven manden op hun hoofd balanceren terwijl ze door de smalle gangpaden navigeren, een traditie die Rwandese markten al eeuwenlang verbindt. De kleermakers in de kledingafdeling werken op vintage Singer-naaimachines en maken ter plekke op maat gemaakte overhemden en jurken voor prijzen zo laag als 5.000 Rwandese frank (ongeveer 4 dollar).
