Binnen de vesting hoor je de echo's van heftige politieke momenten, en veel bezoekers raken ontroerd door de combinatie van ruige architectuur en stille panorama's.
Hoogtepunten: Bovenop de 173 meter hoge heuvel geeft het fort een bijna 360 graden uitzicht, bij helder weer kun je de glinstering van de haven en de torens van de Sagrada Família onderscheiden als kleine stipjes aan de horizon. Binnen in de dikke muren vind je nog steeds ingekraste namen en datums uit de jaren 1930 en 1940, tot op de dag van vandaag kun je de ruwe, hoekige letters van gevangenen herkennen en de koude, kalkachtige geur van de stenen ruiken.
