Korte feiten: Deze natuurlijke getijdenpoelen strekken zich uit over meer dan 300 meter langs de noordwestkust van Fuerteventura. Vulkanische rotsformaties creëren een reeks ondiepe poelen die zich bij elk getij vullen en legen, waardoor ze aanvoelen als een reeks door de natuur uitgehouwen oneindigheidspoelen.
Hoogtepunten: Bij laag water komen meer dan een dozijn onderling verbonden poelen tevoorschijn, elk met verschillende dieptes en temperaturen terwijl het Atlantische water door smalle vulkanische kanalen wervelt. De lokale bevolking heeft door de jaren heen kleine stenen muurtjes gebouwd om bepaalde poelen te verdiepen, waardoor natuurlijke jacuzzi-achtige plekjes ontstaan waar je kunt drijven terwijl je meters verderop de golven op het buitenrif ziet breken.

- The pool closest to the parking lot is smallest but warmest, head to the far end for deeper swimming and fewer people.
- Water shoes are essential, the volcanic rock can be sharp and gets slippery with algae.
- Snorkel in the deeper outer pools during incoming tide for the best chance to see colorful wrasse and damselfish.
- Arrive by 9 AM in summer to secure parking, the lot fills quickly and street parking can be limited.
