Korte feiten: Drie verschillende tuinstijlen Frans, Engels en Italiaans versmelten op 14 hectare, een zeldzame drie-eenheid in Spaans parkontwerp. Onder het serene oppervlak ligt een bunker uit de Burgeroorlog, de Posición Jaca, die diende als commandopost tijdens het Beleg van Madrid in 1936.
Hoogtepunten: Diep onder de bloemperken en hagen slingert een volledig bewaarde bunker uit de Burgeroorlog door de aarde, met muren vol graffiti die fluisteren over soldaten die hier ooit verdedigingsmanoeuvres beraamden. De hertogin van Osuna hield in de jaren 1790 persoonlijk toezicht op elk plantdetail, importeerde zeldzame exemplaren en gaf zelfs opdracht voor een namaakvervallen tempel om romantische melancholie op te roepen.

- Bring a picnic: shaded lawns near the lake are perfect for lounging, and the on-site cafe is overpriced and limited.
- The hedge maze near the palace is trickier than it looks, allow at least 15 minutes to find the center and back out.
- Photography fans should target the golden hour light filtering through the Exedra colonnade, it creates dramatic shadows on the white stone.
- Skip the guided tour of the Civil War bunker if you're claustrophobic, the tunnels are narrow and dimly lit.
