Lokale kopers en koks dringen tegen elkaar aan terwijl verkopers aanbiedingen roepen, waardoor de gangen een levendige, aromatische markt worden die meer aan theater dan aan een winkel doet denken.
Hoogtepunten: Zoek naar een jamón-kraam die Iberico uit Jabugo levert, hier kun je een verkoper zien dunne plakken afsnijden en de nootachtige, olieachtige geur ruiken die in de lucht blijft hangen. Kijk omhoog naar de glas-in-loodkoepel en je ziet beschilderde tegels met sinaasappels en horchata, de felle kleuren en de citrusgeur van nabijgelegen kraampjes maken dat de hele plek zonnig aanvoelt, zelfs op een grijze ochtend.

- Bring small bills and coins, many stalls prefer cash or move faster when you pay in cash.
- Arrive 8:30–10:00 for the best seafood and quieter lanes, weekdays after 15:00 can also be less crowded.
