Korte feiten: Knap bewaarde teakhouten vertrekken en rustige binnenplaatsen geven een bijna filmische sfeer, terwijl je langs zeldzame Boeddhabeelden en fijn geweven zijde loopt. Verhalende rondleidingen brengen kleurrijke anekdotes over de voormalige eigenaar en benadrukken hoe de verzameling bijdroeg aan de moderne heropleving van traditionele zijdeweefsels.
Hoogtepunten: Zes traditionele houten huizen uit verschillende streken zijn vakkundig samengevoegd tot een intiem doolhof van galerijen, waarbij de teakvloeren zacht kraken en de zijde in dieprode en ultramarijnblauwe tinten glanst onder het gedempte licht. De oprichter verdween op mysterieuze wijze in 1967 tijdens een vakantie, en veel gidsen fluisteren dat bij de verzameling oud-Chinese vazen de oude verhalen over zijn verdwijning het hardst klinken.

4.3Arrived at 8:30am with almost no line. The guided tour included in the 200 THB fee was excellent, and the teak house is stunning, though the shop felt pricey.
On a budget the 200 THB entry felt steep and the silk shop is overpriced, yet the architecture and guide anecdotes still made it a decent stop.
Late afternoon visit, small group tour and great stories from the guide. Photos are limited indoors but the peaceful courtyard made the 200 baht worth it.
Came around noon, very crowded and hot. Entry about 200 THB, tour felt a bit rushed but the garden and antiques made it worthwhile.
