Korte feiten: Ongeveer 13 acres aan schaduwrijke leefgebieden herbergt meer dan 900 dieren van ruim 200 soorten. Het door de AZA erkende terrein past binnen een gemakkelijke middagwandeling en ondersteunt ondertussen stilletjes echte fokprogramma's voor rode panda's en nevelpanters.
Hoogtepunten: Loop het leefgebied van de nevelpanters binnen en kijk omhoog: een fijnmazig netdak laat deze zelden geziene grote katten bijna boven je hoofd rondsluipen en springen. Tijdens het dagelijkse praatje van de verzorger in de met bamboe omzoomde tuin komen rode panda's aanrennen voor druivensnoepjes en tonen ze hun geringde, wasbeerachtige staarten.

- Show up at opening on a weekday and go straight to the jaguar habitat, when cats are most active before the heat builds.
- Catch the daily keeper talks, especially the red panda session where treats bring the pandas right to the glass.
- Wear comfortable shoes and bring a stroller, since the entire loop is flat and shaded by tall oaks.
- Grab the miniature train ride only if the kids need a break, because the zoo itself is small enough to walk twice.
