Korte feiten: Verspreid over 1.300 acres is dit voormalige vliegveld van het Korps Mariniers omgevormd tot een van de grootste stadsparken van de Verenigde Staten. Het middelpunt is een enorme heliumballon die bezoekers 120 meter de lucht in tilt voor panoramische uitzichten over Orange County.
Hoogtepunten: Een houten carrousel uit de jaren veertig die in een opslagloods in Long Beach werd ontdekt, staat nu in het park, met handbeschilderde paarden die in hun oorspronkelijke glorie zijn hersteld met bladgoud van 24 karaat. Een ritje kost 50 cent, dezelfde prijs als in 1944, waarmee het een van de goedkoopste nostalgische sensaties van Californië is.
