Korte feiten: Elke avond licht de brug afwisselend in zeven kleuren op, wat dagelijks meer dan 10.000 bezoekers trekt voor een wandeling over de 402 meter. Onder de bogen varen tientallen rondvaartboten die een uitzicht op de verlichte stad vanaf de Parfumrivier bieden.
Hoogtepunten: Tijdens de Vietnamoorlog werd de brug twee keer gebombardeerd en elke keer bouwden de lokale bewoners hem eigenhandig weer op met de oorspronkelijke materialen die uit de rivier waren gehaald. In de avond komen jonge stellen samen op de brug om bij het licht van de gekleurde lampen hun eerste kus te geven; de lokale bevolking noemt dit de 'brug der geliefden'.

- Photographers should arrive at 6:30 PM to capture the blue hour and the first lighting of the bridge in one shot.
- Instead of walking on the bridge, sit in the tea house on the left bank. From there you have the whole bridge in perspective and the crowds are not pushing you.
- Avoid Saturday evenings, when the bridge is most crowded with locals and tourists.
- Take a light jacket even in summer. In the evening a pleasant cool wind blows from the river.
