Fatos rápidos: O museu ocupa um palácio patrício do século XV que pertenceu à nobre família Grisogono, seu pátio de pedra ainda guardando séculos de grafites dálmatas desgastados pelo sal. Mais de 30.000 artefatos preenchem suas salas, desde trajes folclóricos intrincados com fios de ouro até prensas de azeitonas que cheiram a madeira e óleo antigo.
Destaques: Escondida na galeria do último andar do museu, há um quarto completo do século XIX de Split, seu baú de esperança pintado à mão ainda cheirando a lavanda e cera de abelha das ilhas locais. As vigas do teto de madeira são esculpidas com símbolos apotropaicos, pequenas cruzes e olhos destinados a afastar os maus espíritos enquanto a família dormia.
